Leader of Down are a British heavy rock/metal band formed by former Motörhead guitarist Michael “Würzel” Burston and bassist Tim Atkinson as a vehicle for new material and to honour Würzel’s legacy.
The group recorded the album Cascade Into Chaos, featuring Würzel’s final work alongside guest contributions from Motörhead legends including Lemmy, Phil Campbell and “Fast” Eddie Clarke. After Würzel’s death, the band continued with vocalist Matt Baker and guitarist Alex Ward, carrying the project forward with further releases and live shows.
