Join Essex based modern metal outfit Junction 28 as they celebrate the release of their new single Last Embrace, joined by guests to be announced, hosted at the birthplace of Iron maiden!
The ambitious new release explores themes of hope, loss, and unity through heavy riffs, layered electronics, and a cinematic new video filmed at a haunted sea fort, released 16 May.
The single marks Junction 28's most daring and emotionally resonant release to date. Blending drum and bass energy, hard-hitting metal riffs, and sweeping synth textures, the track is a bold evolution for the band and a powerful statement of intent.
Lyrically, “Last Embrace” grapples with personal and global uncertainty. Co-written by Kit and Craig, the lyrics were reworked multiple times, with Craig making major changes even during the final vocal recording session. “It nearly gave me a heart attack,” Kit jokes, “but he completely nailed it.” Touching on themes of loss, hope, and finding connection in dark times, the song draws inspiration from both band members’ experiences with grief and their hopes for the next generation.
Formed in 2018, Junction 28 have earned a reputation for their emotionally charged songwriting, genre-blending sound, and powerful visuals. Named after the motorway junction that connected their separate lives, the band has evolved from raw alt-rock beginnings to a harder, more expansive modern metal sound.
